Samuel Riley Conner of 234 Main Street died last Thursday morning at Swan hospital, Cambridge following a three weeks illness. He was born February 10, 1869 in Noble county, a son of John and Elvira Woodford Conner and was married in 1899 to Sarah Bridgeman who died in 1942. Mr. Conner had resided in Byesville for the past 20 years and was formerly employed by the Ohio Fuel Gas Co. He was a member of the First Church of Christ. Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Mayme McKee, Cleveland; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ogle of Cambridge, Mrs. Margaret Hammond of Zanesville, and Mrs. Mollie McCarty of New Philadelphia. One son, Guy Conner is deceased. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Herlan Funeral home here, with Pastor Paul Van Camp of the first Church of Christ, officiating. Interment was made in the Cemetery of Sharon in Noble County.
