"Mr. Pillsbury was a member of Co. E, 12 N. H. Vols.,
in the Civil War, enlisting 30 Aug. 1862, for three years.
He was wounded at the battle of Chancellorsville, 3 May
1863, from which wound he never recovered. He was
discharged 4 Sept. of the same year, and was afterwards

granted a pension. A few days before his death he ex-
pressed a desire to hear a military band play '' Marching
through Georgia." His wish was gratified, the musicians
going to' his house and performing this and other pieces
which he greatly enjoyed. He was buried with military
honors."
