DEPEW PASTOR, STATE PIONEER, TAKEN BY DEATH
Funeral Services Set For 2:30 Sunday Afternoon
Complications of old age were blamed for the death at 12:30 a.m. Saturday of William Wright Melton, 71, well known Depew resident. Melton, a retired Pentecostal minister, died at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Depew Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday by the Rev. M. C. Abercrombie, pastor. Burial will be made in the Depew cemetery with the Sullivan funeral home in charge.
A native of Missouri, Melton came to Oklahoma with his family about 34 years ago, settling on a farm near Chandler. He moved to Depew in 1918 and had resided there since that time.
The widow, eight children, 16 grandchildren and one brother survive. The children are Mrs. Anna Day of Norman, Mrs. Essie Bench, Mrs. Zelma Charles, Miss Naomi Melton, Ted, Howard and Henry Melton, all of Depew, and Lawrence Melton of Mannford.
