Paul M. Hogge Jr. NORFOLK - Paul M. "Boss Hogg" Hogge Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009 in a local hospital. Paul was born Sept. 4, 1925, to the late Paul M. and Martha O. Hogge Sr. He was a graduate of Portlock High School, Class of 1943. He retired as an inspector with the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk. He held memberships and served as choir director for Norview Church of God of Prophesy, South Norfolk Church of God and Glenrock Church of God. Paul was a longtime member of the Raleigh Heights Baptist Church Bowling League and after retirement was a regular vendor at the Moyock (NC) Flea Market. He enjoyed attending multiple weekly auctions, often sharing the enjoyment of his "finds" with his family. He was passionate about his backyard garden, watching the Washington Redskins, and spending memorable moments with his family. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Wilma P. Hogge of Norfolk; two daughters and their spouses, Dian and Louis Henninger of Virginia Beach and Paula and Matt Bolding of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Rhonda Freeman of Virginia Beach, Gary Henninger of Dunwoody, Ga., Brantley Henninger of Virginia Beach, and Jennifer Bolding of Portsmouth; four great-grandchildren, Corey Stinnett, Amber Henninger, Carter Sukdolak, and Bryce Henninger; a brother, Lonnie R. Hogge and his wife Thelma of Christiansburg; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Riportella and Margaret Hogge. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 1416 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, and where a service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, with Pastor Gloria Dudley and Pastor Aubrey Maye officiating.
