MRS. NANNIE MOORE DIES AT HOME NEAR BETHEL
Mrs. Nannie Moran Moore died at her home north of Bethel about 8:15 o'clock Thursday night at the age of 78. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late Solon and Mary Moran.... At the age of 12 her parents died and she and her sister came to Shelby county to make their home with their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Cochran. She was married July 15, 1879, to John H. Moore, who died Sept. 28. 1926.
Mrs. Moore was one of the best-known and most respected women of the county. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist church.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. W. T. Singleton of Towner, Colo., Mrs. Lula Ellyson of Moss Landing, Calif., Mrs. Carl Baldwin of Columbia, Mrs. C.C. Hayward of Shelbina, Mrs. Clyde Ellyson of Coalinga, Calif.; two sons, J. C. Moore and John Moore of Bethel; one sister, Mrs. Alice Swinney of Shelbina; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral rites were held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Shiloh Baptist church cemetery. Services were in charge of the Rev. Mr. Clay of Canton.
On July 15, 1879, John Henderson Moore was united in marriage with Miss Nannie Moran, a daughter of Solon and Mary Winifred (Martin) Moran, natives of Madison county, Kentucky, who came to Missouri when their daughter, now Mrs. Moore, was but six months old. By her marriage to Mr. Moore she has become the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living—Mary Edna, the wife of Walter Singleton; James C., Lulu D., Hattie, Lucy R., John, Jr., and Frankie, the wife of Charles E. Baldwin, of Knox county, Missouri.
