Mrs, Mary J, Gustin, daughter of Thomas and Mary Roberds, was born
near Petersburg April 12, 1852 and departed this life at her home in
Belfast May 9, 1908, aged 56 years. On January 6, 1875 she was married
to Thomas Gustin. To this union were born four children, Clyde, Homer, Mary and
Bertha, the three latter having proceeded her to that
deathless land. In early youth she united with the M. E church and she lived a
devoted Christian life to the end. In the early part of her sickness, which was
of but few week's duration, she said her
work was almost finished, she would soon be with departed loved ones.
Loving hands did everything to prolong her life but the Lord's will be done and
peacefully she fell asleep to awaken on the other shore,
The funeral services were conducted on May 11 by her pastor, Rev. Gibson, after
which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery nearby, followed by a large
concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Death has robbed us of our mother
Whom we loved and cherished dear,
It was mother, yes, dear mother
We can't help but drop a tear.
Oh, we miss her coming footsteps
Oh, we miss her everywhere,
Home is not what it used to be
Since she is not here.

Dear mother is gone but not forgotten
Never shall thy memories fade,
Sweetest thoughts shall ever linger
Round the grave where she is laid.

CARD OF THANKS
Most sincerely do we express our heart felt thanks to friends and
neighbors who so kindly assisted us in any manner during the sickness and death
of our beloved wife and mother. Also to Rev Gibson for his consoling words and
to the undertaker, Mr. Strain, for the able manner in which he conducted the
funeral. Also for the beautiful floral tributes and the Ladies Aid Society.
Words cannot express our greatfulness to Will Strain and wife for their
assistance and service. T J. Gustin.
