Ted was born July 13, 1928, in Duluth. He was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them and his grandchildren in the lake home he built near Iron River. He was an avid hunger and fisherman who greatly appreciated the outdoors. He and his wife also traveled extensively in the years before he became ill. Ted was the man his friends called upon whenever anything needed to be repaired or built and he enjoyed sharing his many skills with them. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. He was employed as a chemist in Morgan Park's US Steel plant until it closed. He then worked for a time as a crew supervisor for the CETA program and as a foreman for Polaris Wilbert Vault Company. Ted also owned and managed many rental properties in the city of Duluth. He was a Navy veteran serving the Mediterranean from 1946 to 1948.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Ruth; and a daughter Jacquelyn Gardner Peterson.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lorna; loving children, Denise (Richard)Paine of Breezy Point, Minn., Mark Gardner of Eau Claire, Wis., Joan (James)Eyeington of Sugarland, Texas, and Linda (James Volp) Gardner of Maple Grove, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and a sister,Jacky(Thomas) Graham of Eau Claire, Wisc.
