Mrs. Audie Walters Varner, 58,
Route 6, Laurel, died Friday
night in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Jones County,the daughter of the late Jim Walters and Mrs. Mary Finley Walters, and was a member of the Mill Creek Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant
Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Otto Winton, Dave Harrison and Paul Moore officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve
as pallbearers.
Surviving are her husband, Andrew H. Varner; a son, J o e Varner; two granddaughters, Janet and Cherie Varner, all of Route 6, Laurel; Eight sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Busby, Route 1, Laurel; Mrs. S. N. Reeves, Wiggins; Mrs. James Steen, Manilla, Ark.; Mrs. Minnie Byrd, Route 6, Laurel;
Mrs. Maggie Blackledge, Laurel; Mrs. Sinnie Blackledge, El Cerrito,Calif.; Miss Vera Blackledge,Laurel, and Mrs. Thomas
Hartley, Alabama; Three brothers, the Rev. W. H. Walters, Ed Walters and Charlie Walters, Laurel.
