Delania J'vonn (Elkins) Abbott, age 21, of Mustang, died Saturday, August 15, 2009 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. She was born November 18, 1987 in Haskell, Texas to Freddy and Kellye (Hill) Elkins. She grew up in Aspermont, TX; attended schools in Aspermont and Iola, TX, then moved to Bridge Creek, OK in 2004. She graduated from Bridge Creek High School in 2006. She entered the Oklahoma Army National Guard in July, 2006 and served as a Medic. She was employed through MEPS division. Delania also served in the Honor Guard, providing military honors at funerals for fellow military members. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newcastle and was also one of the nursery teachers at the church.. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Earl Kiker and uncle Dennis Hill. She is survived by her husband, Jason Abbott and son Wyatt Jaxyn Abbott of the home, her parents Freddy and Kellye Elkins of Blanchard, OK, one brother Jonathon Elkins and wife Ashley of McLoud, OK, her grandmother Yvonne Kiker of Rotan, TX and grandparents Freddy and Leona Elkins of Anson, TX. She is also survived by three nieces Shaylee Grace Elkins, Jayden and Taylor Abbott, two brothers-in-law Josh Abbott and wife Sara of Ninnekah, OK and Jerad Abbott of Nichols Hills, OK. Also by her father and mother-in-law Danny and Sandra Abbott of Newcastle. Services with military honors will be held locally at 10am on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Newcastle. A second service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Aspermont, TX with interment following at BrazosValley Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
