Published by Jackson Citizen Patriot on Sep. 1, 2006.Dennis E. Lickly, age 58 years of Jackson, formerly of Pittsford, passed away Monday, August 28, 2006 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on June 7, 1948 in Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Carl and Ella Mae (Preston) Lickly. He graduated from Pittsford High School in 1966. Dennis married Salli Carla Davis on June 18, 1993 in Toledo, Ohio. She survives. He worked at Stocks Mill and retired from Jackson State Prison after 13 years as a corrections officer. Dennis was veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Detroit Tigers and computers.
Surviving besides his wife, Salli is his daughter, Crystal (Steve) Miller of North Adams, mother, Ella Mae Sheffer of Hillsdale, granddaughters, Kylie Jo, Sierra and Lexi, brothers, David (Carolyn) Lickly of Edon, Ohio and William (Susie) Lickly of Thornton, Colorado, sisters, Carlene (Steve) Strachn and Joyce (Kenneth) Kisner all of Pittsford, step brothers, Harold (Sherry) Sheffer of Osseo, Carl (Dora Lee) Sheffer of Hanover, step sisters, Wavalene (Fred) Lang of Hillsdale and Luann (Larry) Lehman of Osseo, extended family Artie Carpenter of Coldwater and John (Nancy) Silbernagel of Concord and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved pets, Zoey and Gizmo. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lickly, step father, Granville Sheffer and Cricket, his special dog. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M.on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Pittsford Congregational Church in Pittsford with Pastor Terry Bobzien. Full Military Honors will be conducted by Hannan-Colvin Post # 180, American Legion of Hudson, Michigan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the family or to Great Lakes Hospice of Jackson
