Grandma was creamated and her remains are buried next to Grandpa
Grandma was attending nursing school when she met and married Grandpa. She took time out of school to rear her 8 children. Grandpa passed in January 1985 and in Aug of 1985 Grandma returned to nursing school. She graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Masters in nursing and went to work at Uniontown Nursing home long after the age most retire where she worked several years before retiring. She told us one time that she was older than most of the patients she took care of. I also remember how excited she was about her very first paycheck ever (in her late 60s early 70s). She also was very proud of the Ford tractor that she with some of the money she had worked and earned. Grandma was an inspiration and I know of several nurses that are doing what they are today because of Grandma. I know personally I now hold my Masters of Business Administration after taking 19 years off from school to raise my children because my Grandmother had showed me the importance of not only raising my children but of a life full of education and that no matter how old you are...you are never too old to go to school and with hard work and preservernce you can do anything you set your sights on doing. I love you Grandma and I miss you.
