LAST RITES HONOR LOCAL PIONEER

Funeral services for Mrs. Rettie Stoolfire Wilson, resident of the Crescent community since 1902, were held last Sunday in the First Methodist church. She died May 10 at the age of 89 after an illness of several years.

Christened Sarah Loretta Jane, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hawley and was born in Ohio in 1867.

She was married to Shirley David Stoolfire in 1893. Imediately after their marriage they made the Homesteader's Run into the Cherokee Strip, locating on a farm near Homestead. They moved to the Crescent community in 1902. Her husband died in 1911 and a daughter in 1932.

Mrs. Stoolfire married Warren W. Wilson in 1931 and they moved into Crescent. Mr. Wilson died in 1943.

Services were conducted by Rev. Wm. H. Wheat. He was assisted by Rev. C.D. Wiggin.

Burial was in the Crescent cemetery, under direction of Reed Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Gene Marshal, Max Yenzer, Drummond Ratcliff, Teddy McGuire, Archie Smith and Romaine Rigdom.
