William Melvin Stickles was the first child born of the marriage of Simon and Mary Anna Lee (Pier) Stickles. Not much is known of his early life, but when he left Bluemont for good in his early 'teens,' it is believed he took his first real job with the railroad in Washington, D.C.
He was to later meet and marry Lennis/Lenas Ramey, (b: 9 Apr 1901; d: 22 Jun 1991)who was the daughter of Charles E. and Daisey L. (Openburger) Ramey of West Virginia circa 1917 (actual date and location unknown). This marriage produced a daughter Frances Virginia Stickles (b: 9 Dec 1917; d:16 May 1988).
"Willie" Stickles died circa 14-16 Oct 1918 (actual date and location unknown).
His wife Lenas married a Perry Washington Pier, Jr. which later ended in divorce, but did produced one child, a boy named Robert "Bobby" Piere. NOTE: Bobby added an "e" on the end of his last name as an adult--to make it sound more 'French.'
Lenas married for the last time a Maurice J. Clarke (b: 6 Sep 1900; d: 1 Jan 1952) and this marriage produced no children. Lenas died while visiting with her son "Bobby" in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, California in 1991.
The body of Lennis S. Clarke was returned to Washington, D.C. area, so as to be buried with her third husband Maruice in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Maryland.OBITUARY-from 'The Mirror' Newspaper, Lessburg, Virginia, Vol XII, No. 22;
