A. B. SLAPPEY PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY
MARSHALLVILLE, Ga, Jan 25--This morning between 6 and 7 o'clock Mr. A. B. Slappey, one of the oldest citizens of Marshallville, passed away. He had just gotten out of bed, built a fire and had lain down again, when in a very few minutes his wife discovered that he was dead.

It is a severe blow, not only to his family, but to the entire community, for everybody loved him and each one feels that he has lost a special friend for his great,, kind heart made him a friend of one and all, and made all his friends.

The writer has known him intimately all his life, was in school with him, served in the Confederate army with him, and has been with him under all circumstances, and can truthfully say that he has never seen a bigger hearted man.

He was specially fond of children, children were specially fond of him, and many a little tot will join with the older people in shedding tears of grief over the departure of their friend.
