Barbara Marie Payne, 87 of Russellville, AR, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR. The daughter of William and Catherine (Heimrath) Kiley, she was born February 17, 1921 in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from high school in 1939. She worked for Pacific Telephone and General Mills, Inc. She married Robert Payne on November 19, 1943. They moved to Watonga, Oklahoma where she had her only child, Michael R. Payne on April 8, 1945. While living in Watonga she served as president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and worked as a Secretary for the Local Draft Board for 18 years. Barbara retired to Russellville in April 1980. She enjoyed reading, duplicate bridge and watching T.V. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 36 years Robert Payne and son Michael R. Payne. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Melanie Payne of Hayes, VA.; one granddaughter, Marissa Payne of Washington DC; and one grandson, Matthew Payne and wife Tiffany of Minneapolis, MN. Graveside service will be at 10:a.m., Saturday February 7, 2009 at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Rev. Don Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
