Mrs. Pearlie B. Ashley
-- FORT MILL - Mrs. Pearlie Belk Ashley, 86, grandmother of 32 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 66, died this morning at York General Hospital.
She lived at 204 Sidney Johnson St. and was the widow of Murray Ashley of Fort Mill. She had lived in Fort Mill since 1925. She had 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 4 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. B.W. Downing officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Mattie Sanford, Mrs. Loma Currence, Mrs. Olivia Totherow and Mrs. Marie Freeman, all of Fort Mill, Mrs. Nancy Drawdy, Spartanburg, Mrs. Sarah Owensby, Rock Hill, and Mrs. Bernice Helms, Monroe; one son, Clarence Stevens of Chester, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the home from Wolfe Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon.
