George G. Boyd, co-owner and operator of Borger Laundry and Uniform Supply Company, died at 4 a.m. today in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
Boyd, who lived at 401 Broadmoor, was born in Midland and has been a resident of Borger since 1942 and has been very active in civic affairs.
He had been a director of the Borger Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of City Development, past president of Texas Laundry and Dry Cleaners Association.
He was a member and past president of Borger Noon Lions, was serving on the Board of Regents of Frank Phillips College and was a member of Faith Covenant Church where he was an elder.
Survivors include his wife, Jo of the home; a son Charles "Chief" Boyd of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Cap. A.I. Boyd Jr. of Punta Gorda, Fla., and three grandchildren. Services are pending completion of arrangements at Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.
