John O. Adams and Catherine A. Myers, both of Carlisle, were united in marriage by Justice of the Peace of Middlesex Township, Sennett Sheaffer, on July 15, 1942.
The groom was inducted into the Army the day following the ceremony.

CARLISLE - John O. Adams Sr., 72, of Ritner Highway died Sunday in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Gainesville, Fla.
He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II and a member of Carlisle VFW Post 477.
He was the widower of Catharine Myers Adams. Surviving are three sons, John O. Jr. of Huntingdon, Carl E. of Carlisle and Ronald E. of Plainfield; a daughter, Virginia Stone of Carlisle; a brother, Albert E. Jr. of Mount Holly Springs; a sister, Pearl Brown of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
