Barbara Fraker, Carl Adams wed

Miss Barbara Ann Fraker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Fraker, Newville R.D. 1, was united in marriage with and Carl Eugene Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Adams, Carlisle, Saturday, June 17.

The Rev. Walter Winger performed the double-ring ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Brethren in Christ Church. Miss Carol Floyd was organist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white peau de soie trimmed with alencon lace. The gown featured a mandarin collar, long straight sleeves of lace, modified empire waistline with with lace bodice, A-line skirt and a detachable chapel-length train. Her veil of imported English illusion fell from a Hale effect of lace petals with an organza bow, pearls and was accented with pearl and crystal. She carried a nosegay of white roses, carnations, stephanotis, lavender sweet peas and pink baby's breath.

Mrs Robert D. Markley, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Martha Sipe, friend of the bride; Miss Vickie Shannon, friend of the bride, and Mrs. John Stone, RD4, sister of the bridegroom.

The attendants wore floor-length chiffon gowns styled with Venice lace, mandarin collar, long sheer sleeves, tucked bodice accented with buttons, lace and a satin ribbon and a gathered skirt. The matron of honor was in pink and the bridesmaids in orchid. They chose headpieces of nylon over netting which featured a petal crown effect in colors matching their gowns. They carried nosegays of pink roses, lavender sweet peas and purple asters.

Miss Lori Fraker was flower girl. She wore an orchid satin gown with a lace and button front. She carried a basket of the same flowers as the attendants.

The bride's mother wore a blue dress of nylon with white accessories. Both mothers wore a corsage of roses and carnations matching their dresses.

Robert Markley, brother-in-law of the bride, was the best man. Ushers were Ronald and John O. Adams. Jr., brothers of the bridegroom, and Edward Fraker, cousin of the bride. John Stone was ring bearer.

Mrs. Kenneth Fultz, Tobyhanna, was the guest book attendant.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the Penn Township Fire House. The couple then left on a trip to Virginia.

The bride is a graduate of Big Spring High School and is employed by Kinney Shoe Corp., Carlisle.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Carlisle High School and is employed by Capitol Products, Mechanicsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Adams will reside in Plainfield.

Carl E. Adams

Carl E. Adams, 50, of West Pennsboro Township died Saturday, Nov. 6 1999 in Carlisle Hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1948 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Myers Adams.

Mr. Adams was a member of Plainfield First Church of God, where he was a Sunday school teacher.

He was employed as a custodian at Lamberton Middle School in the Carlisle Area School District.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Fraker Adams, and his daughter, Heather J. Adams, at home; two brothers, John of Mechanicsburg and Ronald of Carlisle; a sister, Virginia Stone of Carlisle; and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Plainfield First Church of God, 2089 Newville Road, with the Rev. Milton Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in his church.
