Mathew Lensmire Sr.
Mathew Lensmire Sr., 61, of R. 1, Cascade, prominent farmer and cheesemaker in the Town of Mitchell, died this morning at Plymouth Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, June 7, 1901, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Lensmire, and was married at Holy Name Church, Sheboygan, Nov. 5, 1930, to Pauline Wolf.
Mr. Lensmire was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Town of Mitchell, and the Holy Name Society of the parish.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Mathew Jr., Plymouth, and Roger, Dale, Gary and Timothy, all of Cascade; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (June) Galloway, Greenbrush, and Mrs. Jack (Judy) Slattery, Milwaukee; five brothers, Joseph and Querin, both of Manitowoc; John, Marathon, Daniel, Whitelaw, and Richard, Ellsville, Cato, and Mrs. Marie Cadow, Reedsville, and nine grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Family services will be held at the Huss Funeral Home, Plymouth, at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. A requiem high Mass will be said at St. Michael's Church, Town of Mitchell, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. A. A. Nickolai, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Monday. A Holy Name and parish vigil will be held at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Monday evening.
