Clarence "Bradley" Anderson, 83, died on Sunday, Aug. 23, at is daughter's home in Kingsport, TN, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Saltville and a member of Anderson's Chapel Church of Christ. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and enjoyed sharing many war stories with his grandchildren. He was a local merchant and known for his generosity and his commitment to God and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Evelene Harris Anderson; his parents, Kelly & Nannie Anderson; and three brothers, James Anderson, Claude Anderson and Clifton Anderson. Surviving are his daughter, Tammy Darnell & husband, Bill, of Kingsport; his son, DeWayne Anderson & wife, Doris, of Bristol, VA; six grandchildren, Kelli Custer, Lindsi Anderson, Kristi Anderson, Devin Darnell, Derek Darnell and Alison Darnell; one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Custer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, and anytime at Mr. Anderson's residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Henderson Funeral Home, with Everette Morefield and Phillip Harris officiating.
