Marie A. Wier, age 97, formerly of 1108 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on August 6, 2009, at her daughter's home in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
She was born on July 12, 1912 in Manitowoc, daughter of John and Mary (Schuler) Stiefvater. Marie attended St. Boniface School and graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On August 17, 1935, she married Mathew J. Wier in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1974. Marie worked at Berk's Apparel Shop and then at Insulation & Supply Company in Manitowoc. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish where she was a member of the Christian Women and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and reading.
