George Vollstedt Sheboygan Press March 11, 1942

Kiel, Wis—(Special)—George Vollstedt, 66, well known resident of this city, and a meat market operator here for many years, passed away Tuesday at his home, 610 Fremont Street, following a heart attack.

Mr. Vollstedt, son of the late Nicholas and Sophie Vollstedt, was born in New Holstein on May 21, 1875, and attended the graded school there. After his graduation he learned the butcher business. He was married on December 30, 1911, to Miss Emma Wirth of New Holstein, the ceremony being performed at Kiel by the late Justice of the Peace William Broeckert. Following their marriage the couple resided at Brillion for a year and with the exception of three years always resided in Kiel.

Survivors are his wife; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. A. T. Hipke, Mrs. George Schaar, Mrs. John Schwallenburg, August and Edward, all of New Holstein.

Funeral services will be held at the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral home in this city and burial will be made in the New Holstein City cemetery. The Rev. Frank Zimmermann, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will have charge of the services.
