John Anton Ibach, 91, Marillac Manor, Bismarck, died June 11, 1998, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in Menoken Cemetery.

John was born on Oct. 8, 1906, in Strasburg, the son of Anton and Monica (Schneider) Ibach. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Strasburg. On Nov. 18, 1928, he married Margaret Vetter at St. Josephs Catholic Church, rural Linton. They farmed east of Linton until 1956, when they moved to Bismarck where he began working for St. Vincents Nursing Home. John retired from St. Vincents in 1977. In 1987, he moved into Marillac Manor.

John enjoyed crafts, such as making lamps and knitting.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Julia Ibach, Linton; four daughters and five sons-in-law, Irene and George Bosch, Margie and Eugene Fisher, and Emil Wetzel, all of Bismarck, Virginia and Keith Salter, Menoken, and Violet and Nate Leinius, Beulah; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, who died in 1986; one infant son, Albert; one daughter, Albina Wetzel, who died in 1983; his brothers and sisters; and one grandchild. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
