Evelyn A. Sanguinetti, 104, passed away on Tuesday August 18, 2009 in a Stockton hospital. She was born July 25, 1905 in the family home on East Washington St., Stockton, CA to Angelo and Anna Sanguinetti. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1923 and went to work as a legal secretary at the age of 17 for the law firm of Gumpert & Mazzera. She worked for the same law firm now Mazzera-Snyder and Demartini for 79 years. Evelyn loved to read-especially biographies and to travel. Her travels took her to the Orient, Europe, Canada and a tour of the South Pacific and Australia. She once commented that "Keeping busy is one of the main things. I don't enjoy sitting around; I've always liked to be on the go."

She will surely be remembered for her upbeat philosophy. She was a person who looked on the bright side of life.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Presentation 1550 W. Benjamin Holt, Stockton on Tuesday August 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. At her request no visitation will be held. Committal will follow the mass at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to the St. Mary's Interfaith Dining Room 545 W. Sonora St. Stockton, CA 95203.
