Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd , 87 , affectionately known as 'Big Mama' , died Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Calvin Parker on Gilmore Street in Waycross .

She is a native of Meriwether County, near Greenville, Georgia and is the daughter of Doctor Joseph A. Huddleston and Martha Townsend Head Huddleston .

Besides her daughters in Waycross, Mrs. Calvin Parker and Mrs. S.W. Walker
there were two other daughters , Mrs. H.E. Lucas of Lakeland, Fla. and Mrs. Lena LaRue of New York City ; also a number of neices and nephews and grandchildren .

Funeral services will be held on Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at Mincy's Chapel with the Rev. A.S. Trulock and Dr. D.V. Cason following burial into Lott Cemetery ..

Elizabeth Boyd has a CSA pension application on line in the GA archives virtual vault. BUT..they have it listed under WARD COUNTY instead of Ware. Inside paperwork says "Ware" and that she married William L.E. Boyd on Jan 28 1872 in Meriwether County. He enlisted in 1863 in Co. A of the 56th GA. That unit combined with others to become the 39th GA, and he was present when they surrendered in Greensboro, N. C. She gives his death as 1891 in Coweta County, GA.
