Services were held September 1, for Cleremont J. Jackson who died August 29 in the Veterans Hospital at the age of 83. Mr. Jackson was a native and life resident of Navarino, and used to operate a general store there. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, and was a memeber of Morning Star Lodge 524 F&AM. Surviving are two sons, Clifford J. of Nedrow and Alvra C. Jackson of Syracuse; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Kelly of Stapleton, Staten Island, and Mrs. Mary Stegner of Lockport; and two brothers, Ceylon of Babylon and Donald Jackson of Berkely, California. The Rev. Roland Ryan of Navarino Methodist Church conducted the 2 p.m. services at Norris Funeral Home. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Navarino.
