He graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1935 and enlisted in the Army Air Corps in February 1942. On the night of March 10th, the John Musser crew and the 43rd squadron took off from North Field Guam on a Tokyo bombing mission.The plane was last seen at 2:10am; what happened next was not immediately known. The plane and crew were declared missing the next day. The War Department later stated that the plane was shot down over Tokyo and no one survived.
