Leona M. Smith
Leona M. Smith, 94, of Kenosha, formerly of Salem, died Tuesday (March 11, 1997) at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center, 3415 Sheridan Road.
Born Aug. 18, 1902, in Salem, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Rebecca (Hayward) Hartnell.
A lifelong resident of the Salem area, she attended the United Methodist Church of Salem and was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She and her late husband owned and operated Smith Electric Shop in Paddock Lake for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Jack L. of Kenosha and James A. of Paddock Lake; a daugher Janis A. Marks of Kenosha; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Gill Hartnell and four sisters, Mame Baker, Etta Derwae, Ruth Feldkamp and Ida Schultz.
The Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
