Born Jan. 26, 1941, at Logan, W.Va., he was the son of Clarkson B. and Evelyn (Figg) Adams.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. Prior to retirement, he was vice president and manager of Nations Bank in Elkton.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Jane (Adams) Thornton and husband, Rick, of Portsmouth, R.I., and a grandson, Brendan Thornton.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in Deerfield Community Cemetery by the Rev. Glenn Davis. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Deerfield Fire Department.
Memorials may be made to the Deerfield Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
