Currie was born in Fairy, Texas, to the late Bert L. and Correl Phillips Wright. He served in the United States Army in World War II. Mr. Wright married Dorothy Edna Nobs in 1942 in Reno, Nev. He later retired from the Hormel Meat Company in Austin, Minn. He had previously lived in Onalaska, Texas, and later, at the Stillwell Retirement Home in Waco. Mr. Wright was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on Dec. 1, 2003; seven brothers; and three sisters, including his twin, Cora.
Mr. Wright is survived by his brother, Melvin N. Wright, of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.
