Funeral services were held on Monday, October 9, at 2 p.m. for a former resident, Mrs. Florence Denison, 92, from the Presbyterian Church in Amboy. Rev. Merle Herberts officiated with David Stevens as soloist and Mrs. C. August Larson organist. Casket bearers were Ralph Lloyd, Mark Mack, Walter Day, Durward Irvine, Robert Champlin and Billy Boesch. Interment was made in the Vernon Center Cemetery. Mrs. Denison died Saturday morning in a Minneapolis Hospital.

Mrs. Denison was a life long resident of Amboy. Her husband preceded her in death in 1959. She was born on June 18, 1875.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William Ost of Minneapolis and nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dennison's Funeral Held at Amboy Monday
A group of relatives and old friends from Mapleton attende at the Amboy Presbyterian church Monday afternoon, funeral services for Mrs. Florence Dennison, who died at Minneapolis last Friday at St. Barnabas hospital. Interment was in the Dennison family lot in the Vernon Center cemetery.
Mrs. Dennison was 92 years of age and was born on the Griggs homestead in Danville, now the home of her nephew, guy Griggs and family. She was the daughter of Jeremy and Ruth Griggs and was the last living member of her family of brothers and sisters.
She attended the Mapleton school and the Mankato Normal school, later teaching in many of the rural schools of the county.
She was married to William Dennison of Amboy and their home was on the Dennison farm northwest of Amboy which has been the property of the Dennison family for over 100 years. After the death of her husband in 1959, Mrs. Dennison has lived with her daughter, Mrs. William Ost of Minneapolis. Besides her daughter she is survived by nine grandchildren. Her son Warren, dies a number of years ago and was well known as a member of the firm which established Dennison-Johnson, Inc. of Mankato.
