From the Montreal Newspaper, John Bell at St. Anne's Military Hospital, on September 17th, husband of the late Janet Lamont, dear father of Janet (Mrs. George Reid), Jean (Mrs. Paul Hede), New York, Christina, James of Toronto, John, Joseph of Sudbury, Ontario, and Gordon. Funeral prigate from D. A. Collins Chapel, 5610 Sherbrooke St. W. on Wednesday at 2p.m. to Montreal Memorial Park.
MILITARY: Parchment Certificate of character on discharge or transfer to Army Reserve of Rank of Corporal, J. N. Bell, Regiment Scottish Horse, this is a military form B. 2077, his conduct and character while with the Colors have been according to the records, very good. Dated 3 September 1902.

2nd parchment certificate C41278, Rank, Gunner, Bell, John Neil, 2nd Brigade C. F. A., Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force,on the 3rd of September 1914, and accompanied said unit to Overseas, was returned to Canada, and discharged from the service at Montréal on the 30th of November 1917.

This is to Certify that No. 41728, Rank R. S. M. Bell, John Neil enlisted in the 1st Depot Battalion, 1st Québec Regiment. Canadian Expeditionary Force at Montréal P. Q. on the fourth day of June 1918. He served Canada and is now discharged from the service by reason of General Demobilization.
