Funeral services for Mrs. Hulda Cave Thomas, 52 years of age, were held Friday at the Stoner Creek church with the Rev. Rodford McDonald in charge. Burial was in the Cox cemetery. Mrs. Thomas died at the Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Louisville Tuesday following an illness of tuberculosis. She was a native of the county but had made her home in Louisville for sometime and was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Joe Stayton and Melvina Mings Stayton. Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Thelma Rennes, and Miss Helen Cave, Louisville, Joe S. Cave, Louisville, and Floyd Earl Thomas, Illinois. She also leaves five brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ed Bottoms and Mrs. Nettie Burress, Elkhorn, Rt. 1, Henry Stayton, Elkhorn, Rt. 1, Billie Joe Stayton, Louisville, and Vester Stayton, Brooklyn, N.Y., also two granddaughters. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, March 1, 1945
