Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the Delmar Elder Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Sullivan High School Unit District # 300, 725 North Main St., Sullivan, IL 61951.
Ada was born March 3, 1909 in Arcola, the daughter of J. Allison and Lillie May (Wellbaum) Brown. She married E. Delmar Elder January 2, 1928 in Shelby County. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1997. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Sullivan.
She is survived by her son, Darrell (Francine) Elder of Springfield; daughters, Eloise Quinley and companion Sam Newberry of Springfield, Wilma (Gaydon) Brandt of Bella Vista, AR and Janet (Garry) Ernst of Charleston; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, eight sisters, two sons and one granddaughter.
