Annie B. Lash (Sykes) was born in Columbus, MS on July 23, 1918. She was the fourth of six children born into the union of the late Turner and Carrie Ann Sykes. She was a long time resident of Mobile, Al. In recent years, she relocated to Stone Mountain, GA. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a long time member of El Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member serving on the Pastor's Aid committee. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On August 21, 2009 our beloved Annie B. went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lash, Sr.; son, Trancesen; daughter Tanya. She is survived by two daughters, Arlean (Wilbert) Johnson, Long Beach, CA, Bernice (David) Culp, Apple Valley, CA; son, Joseph (Leoniece) Lash, Jr. of Mobile, Al; brother, Henry Sykes, Los Angeles, CA; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral hour at El Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor J. Yates, officating. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Arrangements are under the careful direction of REESE FUNERAL HOME. Published in Press-Register on August 28, 2009
