Eugene J. Kosenko, 84, of 87 Wyndwood Drive, Bristol, widower of Mary (Duquette) Kosenko, died surrounded by his family on Thursday (August 27, 2009) at Subacute Center in Bristol.


He was born in New Britain on February 23, 1925, and was a son of the late Michael and Valentine (Tatarsynska) Kosenko.


He lived most of his life in Bristol. He was a machine assembler at Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool, Div. of Colt Industries. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Bristol B.P.O.E. #1010, Pratt & Whitney-Chandler Evans Men's Club, and the American Legion Post #2.


He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Diane Kosenko of Bristol; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Donald Costello of Preston, and Sally and John Goulet Jr. of Southington; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Amy Costello, Colin and Katherine Kosenko, and Sarah and Emily Goulet, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Eckert.


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour before the services from 9-10 a.m.
Burial with Full Military Honors accorded will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, at a later date.
