He married Leona Ramonda on 19 June 1941 at Osage City, Kansas.
During WWII he was a member of the 503rd Heavy Maintenance Company, Tank, which participated in the battles of Normany, Northern France, rhineland and Central Europe. Located in the European Theater of Operations for 23 Months.
After the war he worked as a body repairman and for ten years owned and operated Reed's Body Shop. He later worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 17 years before retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Gene Elroy Schenck Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No 7584, Burlingame, and was a past commander of Robert Heizer Post No 198 of American Legion at Osage City.
Besides his wife who survives of the home, he leaves four daughters and one son: Lynda, Rosalie, Jean, John and Patsy. He is also survived by one brother, Marlin.
