Son of James Bird Sr & Letitia Ann née Bennett.
Married Zylpha Ann née Driscoll, the daughter of Stephen Driscoll & Arthemia "Arta" née Masey, about 1850 in Burlington Co, NJ.
They issued 4 known children: James J. Bird, Analiza Bird, Ardimas E. Bird, and Sarah Bird.
Their son James J. Bird died 1 April 1863 of measles at 12 years old.
His sister Analiza & their mother Zylpha died 4 days later on the same day, both of Spotted Fever (aka Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever or Typhus, often spread by ticks, fleas, lice). Analiza was only 5 years old, Zylpha was 27 years old. The children's burial locations are unknown but it is likely they are buried with or near their mother here in Greenwood Cemetery.
Samuel married Mary née Rossell, the daughter of Thomas Rossell & Rebecca née Haines, on 28 Nov 1866 in Northampton Twp, Burlington Co, NJ.
