Abraham (Joe) Saenz, 89, of Stockton died on August 29, 2009. Raised in Texas until he was 13 years old he moved to San Jose, CA, then to Stockton where he resided for 60 years. He was a loving and caring father to his four sons, Isidore, Gary, Larry, and Norman. Joe is preceded in death by three of his sons, Gary, Larry and Norman, with Isidore his only surviving son.
Joe worked for 35 years as a meat cutter at Save-Mart on Main St. in Stockton. He loved his job and continued visiting with his co-workers long after he retired in 1982. Joe was a City of Stockton Police Reserve Officer for 30 years. He attained the rank of Police Reserve Lieutenant. He continued to volunteer at the firing range after he ended his service with the police department.
Joe was loved by his surviving son, 3 sisters, his grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a remembrance service in the Mausoleum at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 2350 Cemetery Lane, on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 3 p.m.
