Mrs. Etta C. Ayers, 75 Rites Set for Saturday
Mrs. Lee (Etta C.) Ayers, a long time resident of Eufaula and McIntosh County, died Wednesday, May 15 in a McAlester hospital. Mrs. Ayers was born in Arkansas, February 23, 1893.
Funeral services have been set for Saturday, May 18 in the Vivian Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m. Reverend G.K. Cobb will officiate at the service, and will be assisted by Reverend Larry Adams, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Eufaula.
Mrs. Ayers is survived by her husband, Lee Ayers of the home; four sons, Leonard of Ripon, California, Bill of Modesto, California, Duane of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, and Ralph of Modesto; two daughters, Mrs. Ila Mae Brewer, Eufaula, and Mrs. Willadean Stubbs of Corpus Christi, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Enoch Jordan, Dan Malone, L.D. Phillips, Walter Hopkins, Arch Yandell and Elbert Majors.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery here under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
