Rueie has long been a genealogical mystery. He never appeared in a U.S. census, born a year after 1910 census, and searched far too long before finally finding the family in 1920 census, name spelled Turney.

When, in 1970s, after the deaths of my Burton grandparents, I was given a number of photographs from their collection, was delighted that two were of the Turner family showing Elmer, Bessie, Keithly and marvelously, Rueie. My mother recognized the photos – she'd grown up with them. I discovered that just as she and her sister Verba had always claimed, the two Turner boys were among the most adorable children I'd ever seen.

Rueie was born in Montana where his parents were married in 1910. But when did Rueie die? Since Elmer, Aunt Bessie and not only son Keithly, but his infant son Keithly (Buddy) were at Belmont Cemetery in Fresno along with many other Burtons, checked there first. No Rueie. I assumed that he died before the Turners settled in Fresno. Though younger son Keithly was born in Dunsmuir in 1913, they were in Utah in 1917.(Elmer's WWI Draft Registration indicated two children), then arrived in Fresno by late 1918.

Via Find A Grave found "Rueie Turner – 1911 to 1921." Cemetery records are not in very good order, but funeral home was listed, and was able to tell me that he died in February 1921 (exact date was illegible) and that he was a schoolboy.

From his photos, appears to have been a real charmer.
