Carolyn J. "Carol" Weber, 67, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning Aug. 28, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland following a brief illness.

Carol was born on May 30, 1942, in Wooster to Carl and Stella (Philpot) Schafer and has been a lifelong resident of Wooster.

She graduated from Wooster High School in 1961 and married Tom Weber on Oct. 12, 1963. He went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 24, 1996.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster where she was involved with many activities, including the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She previously worked for the former Wooster Telephone Co. and then with Village Bears & More in Shreve for many years.

She was a volunteer for the Wayne County election board and for Wooster Community Hospital for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Lora (Ron) Peterson of Racine, Wis.; a son, Paul Weber of Wooster; two granddaughters, Erin and Alyssa; a brother, Bruce (Kathy) Schafer of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two sisters, Janet (Paul) Frederick of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Barbara (Mike) Hinton of Forest Grove, Ore.; and an uncle, Charles Schafer of Wooster.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
