Pearl R. Comella, 88, of Woodstock, died Saturday, Sep. 15, 2007 at her home in Woodstock.

She was born Sep. 8, 1919 in Chicago, to John and Jennie (Lupo) Leva. She married Joseph W. Comella on Aug. 28, 1943 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock. She was a longtime member of the Mama Mia Club and the McHenry County Historical Society, as well as the Harmony Club of McHenry County College.

She is survived by two children, Kathie Comella of Woodstock and Dave (Dee) Comella of Woodstock; two grandchildren, Nicholas Comella and Zachary Comella, both of Woodstock; and a sister, Jane Ferrier of Lombard; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph, on Oct. 8, 2000; and two brothers, Anthony Leva and Joseph Leva.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, Sep. 17, at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home in Woodstock. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sep. 18, at the funeral home. Deacon Hans Rokus will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Friends of the Woodstock Opera House.
