He was born September 5, 1926, in Loami, the son of Millard and Marjorie Sims Cloyd Sr. He married Colleen McCray in Hot Springs, Ark, in 1949; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Cloyd was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Capitol Machinery for 12 years, having previously been a heavy equipment supervisor in Saudi Arabia for a year. He had also worked at the Allis-Chalmers proving grounds for 18 years and had worked the family farm for 20 years.
Survivors: two sons, Dennis and Tim Cloyd, both of Loami, a daughter, Mrs. William (Kathy) Cummings of Loami; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two aunts, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Monday at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Loami. The Rev. Jon Morrissette officiated. McCullough Funeral Home in New Berlin was in charge of arrangements.
