He is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Edna; and five daughters, Janice Thompson and her husband, Bob of Broken Arrow, Wanda Tinney of Tulsa, Norma Anderson of Broken Arrow, Carolyn Lee and her husband, Jim, of Broken Arrow, and Lavon Thomas and her husband, Paul, of Sand Springs; three sisters, Goldie Kane of Fresno, California, Edith Pugh of Muskogee, Lois Burley of Edmond; two brothers, Ernest Tinney of Checotah and John Tinney of San Bernardino, California; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, 1997, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wagoner with the Rev. Ann Ruede officiating. Burial was at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. Services were under the direction of Shipman funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
