Alcium Vandeveer(Veer) Brownback, 73, of Jefferson City,Mo. formerly of Decatur,died recently in Conway,Ark.,while returning home from a vacation trip.
He was the son of Jospeh M.Borwnback,former vice-president of the Millikin National Bank, who died Oct. 23, 1935. Mr. Brownback was formerly in the automobile business here.
He was born Aug. 4,1887, a son of Joseph M. and Mary J.Vandeveer Brownback. He married Leda Mueller May 22, 1912 in Decatur. He later married Merle Shumaker,Dec. 21,1945 in the First Methodist church in Reno, Nev.
He leaves his wife, and two daughters from his first marriage, Mrs. Driscoll(Mary Jane) Cain, of Carmel,Ind. and Mrs.W.G.(Eloise) Warren, of Sarasota,Fla. A son preceded him in death.
The body will be shipped to the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home. Burial will be in the Brownback-Vandeveer mausoleum in Greenwood cemetery. Other arrangements are incomplete.
