He did not enter service as he had hearing problems, but was proud that he was foreman for a company that made transformers for the government.

He was 7 - 10 ran errands for Thorteson Electric, elevator operator gave him pints of whiskey as pay. He left school 14 & worked for man Thorteson Electric who was wealthy & very nice, put him in charge of important things & personal because he trusted him. Very fair, no double hours or fired like now.

Bars all employ lots before, Chicago back of Franklin 800 block Milwaukee was 5 star restaurant in old crappy neighborhood, Kingsbury in Riverview Park and ended Oriental Theatre other end. Walked all way downtown where worked all three.

When a kid Dorothy's father Frank Bruscato caught him smoking cigar on street and kicked him calling him a little shit and not to do that. All relatives watched out for all the kids.

Owned a tavern Boulevard Inn, for about a year at Pulaski and Augusta, Chicago, IL. He bought it to help out a friend who owned it but closed it after a bad fight on a Saturday night. Guy got drunk at another bar, wandered in and started fighting. His wife even said he didn't drink at Frank's bar but police wouldn't listen. Probably $ issue.

Old Cabrini Green, he saw Al Capone during celebration of Blessed Virgin where they walked through to church, parked car and gave money to his henchman to put on statue. Never releaeed movie about him with people & their stories about.

His sister Bernice worked at Holloway Candy Co. Dorothy said the smell gave her a high.

Told of a John Brown, a truck over aired tires and the rim flew off and killed him.
