Frieda Mae Carman, 70 of Pontiac died Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:42 am at her residence.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 11:00 am at Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac with David Heath of River of Life officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. Friends may call from 10:00 until the hour of services at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorials in Frieda's name may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
Frieda was born on November 7, 1938 at Knoxville, TN., a daughter of Marion and Thelma (Looney) McCoy. She married Sheril "Smokey" Fannin at Bloomington. She later married Avery "Dean" Carman at Bloomington, IL.
Survivors include: One son: Marty (Anselma) Fannin of Pontiac, IL, four grandchildren: Anna Fannin of Chicago, IL, Asia Fannin of Pontiac, IL, Amanda Kemp of South Carolina and Alec Fannin of Pontiac, IL, five sisters: Golda (Roy) LaRue of Fountain City, TN, Loretta (Bob) Hodge of Meadows, IL, Florence Thompson of Chenoa, IL, Betty Davis of Pontiac, IL, Melinda (Richard) Hatfield of Meadows, IL, and one brother: Bill McCoy of Palo Alto, CA. Frieda was preceded in death by her Parents- Marion and Thelma McCoy, 1 Son: Dennis Carman, 4 brothers: Earl McCoy, James McCoy, Ralph McCoy and Albert McCoy, 2 sisters: Helen Kirby and Faye Simar.
Frieda was educated in Tennessee schools and was a homemaker.
