Christian Christensen was born at Horsen, Denmark, Nov.2, 1850. His first years were spent in the fatherland. In March of 1894, he set sail with his wife and little family for the new land, America. Such a venture as the one upon which this family entered at that time was fraught with great difficulty to say nothing of the problems to be faced in laying the foundation of a new home in a new land under entirely changed conditions. His wife who before her marriage was Metta Sophia Anderson, preceeded him in death. Unto this union was born seven children, five of them boys and two girls. Three boys died in Denmark. The other children are Jens, Jensena, Morris C. and Marie Christensen.
